Security Controls

The security controls in the industry start with the credit/debit cards you accept at your point of sale (POS). Over the years, these security features have evolved to include the 3 or 4 digit security code, last 4 digit verification, masking the cardholder's personal account number (PAN) so only the last 4 digits print on the back of the card, and other security features such as embedded chips and PINs.
